When it comes to the most pressing issues affecting women and people of color, we make sure our elected officials know how much these issues matter to their constituents. Whether we’re writing letters, making calls, or testifying in Sacramento, we provide our advocates with all the tools they need to make their voices heard and our elected officials with all the information they need to make the best decisions for women’s economic empowerment and racial justice.

We support women to be their own best advocates and experts on changes that will make a real difference. We provide training and hands-on experience so that developing leaders have the confidence and skills to make their voices heard. We also provide workshops and trainings for student organizations, community members, and partner organizations looking to enter into their own successful advocacy efforts.

Training more women to participate in the legislative process is critical, as the confidence gap and institutional barriers of racism and sexism affect women in all aspects of policy-making. Research and leadership development programs show women are more likely to participate in policy and advocacy when they are actively recruited and feel they have technical knowledge of the process. We aim to open doors and assist women into policy-making spaces that have historically been closed to them – spaces they should not have to go into alone or without support. View Our Calendar.

Our events are designed to bring people together for engaging and challenging conversations, ultimately opening doors for new ideas and new partnerships. Racial justice and economic empowerment dialogues are difficult, awkward, and necessary, and we find our greatest success comes from bringing people together around the table for honest discussion and sharing. Issue education, personal stories, and chances to hear from key leaders in the field are the hallmark of these unique events.
